Our survey uncovered that girls felt stuck choosing between mens and boys fit that was too large, or selecting women and girls fit which seemed to be too tight and uncomfortable. Because of this, we decided to design a shirt that was unrestrictive, but followed the natural shape of a women's body. This has resulted in the appearance of good fit, without limiting performance.

Another re-occuring theme from our survey was inadequate shorts. Our community told us that the shorts they often played in were ill-fitting due to them either being a men's fit, or women's fit which were too short. We also discovered that girls had different preferences towards how they wear their shorts. These findings inspired us to launch two different lengths of shorts, so that girls within the same team have the option to wear a pair of shorts that feel right to them.

The colour of kit was also a large talking point. White and pale shorts was raised as an issue for girls due to fears of leaking when on their period. We have observed teams like Manchester City and the Lionesses move away from wearing white shorts after players raised their concerns. In line with this, we will work with clubs to ensure they are aware of concerns like this when designing kits for their players.

Ultimately, there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to kit. The deciding factor should always be what the player on the pitch feels the most comfortable in, whether that's an oversized look or shorter shorts. Our vision for Miss Kick team wear is to develop different shapes and sizes, so that she can wear her kit her way, empowering her to play the game she loves without limits.
